Marketing tips for:
Ramaura™ Cultured Ruby
Nicholas Created Alexandrite - Empress Cultured Emerald
As the market for our gemstones has grown over the years, we have found
the more that is known about them, the faster they sell. So... here are
some pointers which you may find helpful in your sales presentation.
- Always show rubies under incandescent light (normal light bulbs you
read by) or flood lights. Fluorescent light suppresses the rubies’ inherent
sparkle and fire and should be avoided.
- Alexandrites will look their best raspberry-red color under incandescent light
(the same light you use for ruby) and their best blue/green color in shaded
sunlight. If shaded sunlight is not practical, fluorescent light held close
to the stones will bring out the blue color.
- Emeralds look their very best in sunlight. If that isn’t possible,
the next best choice is fluorescent light (especially a fluorescent Chroma 50 tube).
- Mention that the Ramaura Cultured Ruby was featured on the National
Geographic TV Special "Splendid Stones". Seventy (70) million people have seen
the show and your customer may be one of them.
- Ramaura Cultured Rubies are so much like natural rubies that, even with
our help through the addition of a telltale trace chemical, gemmologists must
use all their skills to tell the difference.
- Never describe these products to the public as "synthetic".
Most people untrained in gemology or science, think "synthetic" means "fake".
Our gems are not "fake", they are real rubies, emeralds and alexandrites
produced in the laboratory. You may choose, as we do, to call our rubies
and emeralds "cultured". Your customer will be familiar with
cultured pearls and know that even though people have helped to produce
them, they replicate natural pearls. The same is true for our rubies
and emeralds.
- Our gems are not cheap, but they cost a small fraction of what
an equivalent natural gem would cost. This makes them valuable gemstones
in their own right and a very cost effective alternative to expensive
naturals.
- The production of Ramaura Cultured Rubies is small, limited by time and the
difficulty of the process. There are less than 10,000 cut carats per year
sold into the worldwide market.
These gems are unconditionally guaranteed.
